The Applied Investment Management (AIM) program and the Marquette finance alumni will again sponsor and facilitate the 9th annual ‘Ins and Outs of Wall Street’ event.  In the years past, over 40 alumni and 140 students typically attended this event.  The Ins and Outs of Wall Street is especially useful to students considering careers in the finance industry and is open to all Marquette students from any major.

The Ins and Outs of Wall Street is an alumni driven event covering career opportunities in the following functional areas:

  1. Investment Banking
  2. Sales & Trading
  3. Wealth Management
  4. Investment Research & Asset Management
  5. Alternative Investments (Private Equity & Hedge Funds)
  6. Commercial Banking

During the second half of the event a series of breakout sessions provide students with an opportunity to engage in a more in-depth discussion with alumni.  The breakout sessions focus on the six functional areas.

Following lunch, various alumni provide real world advice on how to prepare for a career in finance. The session will include specific advice on interviewing skills, recommended business apparel, and mock interviews.  The event will concluded with a networking session with alumni.  We are very thankful for the involvement of our alumni in organizing and supporting this event. Networking is the key to job search success, and this event will provide an excellent opportunity for our students to interact with leading experts from the financial industry.
