Competition in the NIBC 2016 Second Round is Underway

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - Congratulations to the university teams chosen to compete at the 2016 National Investment Banking Competition. This year there was strong competition globally with university teams from North America, Asia, and Europe. These finalists distinguished themselves in their ability to successfully apply fundamental corporate financial analysis and financial modeling skills to the challenging valuation case presented to them in the Preliminary Round. Over 330 teams competed in the preliminary round and after an intense judging process completed by a handful of investment banking professionals, the top 24 Undergraduate and 24 Graduate teams were chosen. These distinguished finalists are competing at the 2016 Conference on March 23-24 for a prize pool of $15,000.
At 6:00 am PST the teams received a comprehensive case package and financial model - and were given several hours of resolution time to analyze a realistic investment banking transaction. Following the resolution period, the teams will be divided into pools and will conduct a 10-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session with a judging panel comprised of junior and senior bankers. These presentations will take place at the boardrooms of our sponsoring investment banks in downtown Vancouver. By 3:00 pm CST the results of the Second Round will be reported.
