Quad Graphics is the CFA Society of Milwaukee Global Investment Research Challenge Target Firm

The CFA Society of Milwaukee is hosting its 3rd Global Investment Research Challenge. Dr. David Krause, AIM program director said, "The CFA Global IRC is a unique opportunity for students to hone their investment analysis skills. The CFA investment research challenge brings students, investment industry professionals, publicly traded companies, and corporate sponsors together for a real world competition.”

Krause added, “What I love about the GIRC is that it promotes best practices in fundamental equity research and company analysis. My students learn to research, analyze, and report on an actual company like practicing analysts. It is also valuable for the students to be introduced to the standards of the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.”

The CFA Society of Milwaukee has organized their year’s challenge with five universities: Carroll University, Marquette University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, UW-LaCrosse, and UW-Milwaukee. The target company is Quad/Graphics (ticker: QUAD).

The universities assemble teams of 3 to 5 finance students who work directly on the target company in researching and preparing a company analysis. The teams' final presentations are locally evaluated by high-profile panels of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from the area’s top firms. The local champions advance to regional competitions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe and then to the global finale. This year’s Americas’ and global finals will be held in Omaha, Nebraska.
