Marquette FMA Students Will Have Opporturnity to Meet BNP-Paribas' North American CEO, Everett Schenk, During Their NYC Visit


Thanks to the efforts of Rick Broeren (MU '77), Managing Director and Head of U.S. Corporate Coverage, BNP Paribas - New York and Claire Cerni - the Marquette University FMA students visiting New York next week will have an opportunity to meet Everett M. Schenk. He is the Chief Executive Officer - North America BNP Paribas. 

Mr. Schenk is responsible for BNP Paribas’ North American Corporate and Investment Banking activities and is responsible for overseeing the North American operations for the Bank’s Asset Management and Securities Service activities.  Mr. Schenk assumed full responsibility for this appointment on May 23, 2000, the date of the formal merger between BNP and Paribas. 

Beginning in November of 1998 until the time of the merger, Mr. Schenk was Chief Executive Officer of Paribas North America, responsible for Paribas’ various activities and business interests in the U.S., South America and Canada.  Prior to this appointment, he was head of Corporate Banking for Paribas North America as of April 1, 1996. 

Previously, Mr. Schenk worked in Paribas’ Paris headquarters overseeing banking activities in North and South America. Mr. Schenk began working for Paribas in New York in 1989 as head of Corporate Banking, with responsibility for the bank’s real estate, merchant banking, large corporate, energy, project finance and loan syndications businesses.   

Mr. Schenk began his career in 1973 at Chemical Banking Corporation. During his 16 years at Chemical, he worked in a number of different areas of the bank including senior management positions in client coverage, project finance and investment banking. Mr. Schenk holds an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a B.A. degree in International Relations from Brown University.

Mr. Schenk is a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute of International Bankers and was Chairman from 2004 – 2007.  He is also a Board member of the Foreign Policy Association and member of the Economic Club of New York.
